Experimental tests and theoretical analysis for mechanical behaviors of side wall opening construction in mined excavation subway station

The connection of subway stations to surrounding underground spaces inevitably involves opening construction in the existing structure. can strongly impact structure when there is no reserved condition. In this study, three-dimensional numerical simulation, model test, and theoretical analysis are used analyze mechanical behaviors side wall a mined excavation station-Xuanwumen Station Beijing Subway Line 4. Based on deformation stress characteristics structure, two different reinforcement measures compared. It found that vertical horizontal deformations caused by −1.58 −1.79 mm, respectively, which lower than control requirements (3 mm). However, first third principal increments 2.14 −4.62 MPa, markedly higher requirement (10%). A “two-step opening” method proposed for structures based solution complex function orifice problem. This validated simulations tests, achieving highly consistent results. allowable ultimate span 5.75 m without reinforcement. Findings present study provide reference design openings similar spaces.
